The One Connected To You
Hello Happy Holidays Again. My friends it is the end of the year. Whew! We made it. I will tell you, I’m especially happy at this time. I’m a mommy and I’m home with my son who just turned 3 years old. During this holiday season I was able to give to friends, family and to those who I did not know. I received gifts and hospitality from those who have known me for a long time. I was also able to throw a gathering just to show appreciation for the love that has been given to me over the years. I’m thankful to have a film project that will start on January 13th, 2018, my Delta Sigma Theta sorority Founders Day. I was also able to attend a few parties this year that I missed last year due to being on tour with the Harlem Globetrotters and I right now have coffee, shelter and food. Notice I put coffee first…a mess. Its my vice. But all, in all, we as a people are blessed. In my life it has always been about work and survival. Always looking for the next gig or opportunity. We all are right? Anyway as I get older, yes I love work and tackling the next challenge, but it is a great thing to have family and friends. Someone who has looked out for you or someone who you are responsible for. It puts a whole new meaning to life. I’ve learned this later in life. I had a family member say to me why didn’t go back on tour. I responded….well I missed a lot of my sons 2 year old toddler events and it was heart wrenching, unbearable for me to be away from him. But like a true “OG" , work calls and you handle that shit. But I determined this is a time that my son needs his mommy and I needed him. One thing I have learned. Make the right decisions. They are recorded by God. He never forgets what you did for someone else, blood or not you cared to give of yourself for something greater. Now on to New Years!
